WINTER 2007

  Good News .....
Your organization got some well-deserved attention in the Philadelphia Inquirer.  Our initial program to provide Internet access and training to clients of the Chester County OIC was featured.  This is all exciting and good news.

If you type in http://home.ccil.org/~edc in your browser, you will see a list of these two articles, which you can click on to download in pdf format.

In order to enable CCIL to continue and expand this new work with OIC as well as continue to provide no-cost Internet access to all of our citizens, we need your help.  As the article in the Inquirer states, almost all of our operating funds come from the generosity of our members and users - YOU.  If you have sent in your 2006 contribution already, thank you very much.

If you have not, please send as generous a contribution as you can to: Chester County Interlink, c/o Chester County Hospital, 701 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.

Chester County Interlink is registered with the US Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and donations are fully tax deductible, so part of your contribution will be repaid to you by Uncle Sam.

Our thanks again to the many perennial supporters who have already send in their annual donations.  We now need more first-time contributors. The amount is up to you, but we remind our supporters that even basic dial-up Internet access has a cost of $120 per year.  A donation of that amount allows us to provide that same service to many of your fellow

Citizens who benefit greatly by the access, but cannot afford the cost.

How Can I Delete My Mail In SquirrelMail

When you click on Delete to put an email into the trash, the Inbox.Trash folder changes to Inbox.Trash (Purge). The addition of (Purge) makes available a button you can click on to perform the delete or purge task. You might not notice that Inbox.Trash has changed to Inbox.Trash (Purge), because the Folders column is too narrow to show it. Move the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the column so you can see all of Inbox.Trash (Purge). All you have to do now is click on the (Purge) link in the Inbox.Trash (Purge) line to empty the trash.

The folder column displays the status of the folders at the last time Squirrelmail checked the mail server. You may not see the deleted message move to the trash folder. Click on Check Mail at the top of the folders panel to perform the move to the trash folder. SquirrelMail will then see that there is now some trash in the Trash folder. Now you can click on (Purge) and delete all the messages from the trash folder without actually going into the folder.

Suggestion: Use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express with the option to download all your messages to your computer. This will keep your Inbox cleaned out of old messages. Also, go to CCIL website and open the User Support page to learn more about SquirrelMail. A link to newsletter also has some Interesting suggestions.
